Anne-Sophie VANANTY

Anne-Sophie VANANTY

is the Founding Partner of AndLaw AVOCATS.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master’s degree in Economic Law from the University of Geneva. She advises and represents clients in both advisory and litigation matters at the national and international levels and serves as the firm’s primary point of contact.

Her main areas of practice include banking and financial law, regulatory law, economic and financial crime, private wealth law, employment law, business law, corporate law, as well as real estate and tenancy law.

Anne-Sophie Vananty began her career as a legal counsel within a wealth management company and family office serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Building on this experience, she was offered a position as a teaching and research assistant to a professor of international reputation at the University of Geneva, leading her to pursue an academic year. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, she contributed to research work related to the drafting of a new provision of the Swiss Criminal Code, introducing tax offences as predicate offences to money laundering. During this period, she also obtained the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Legal Professions (ECAV).

She then completed her attorney’s traineeship at a Geneva-based law firm, obtained her Swiss bar admission, and subsequently joined one of the largest Swiss business law firms, where she worked on complex litigation matters.

She later joined the legal department of a Big Four firm as a specialist lawyer in anti-money laundering, serving as the reference expert for economic and financial crime in French-speaking Switzerland. In this role, she supervised AML audits of various financial institutions and was responsible for training professionals on regulatory and compliance matters.

Subsequently, she joined the legal department of a Swiss private bank, where she provided legal support across various business lines and corporate functions, including human resources, senior management, trading, front office, litigation, and regulatory affairs, as well as to the different entities within the banking group.

Meanwhile, a longstanding family tradition motivated her to actively specialise in real estate and construction law.

Wishing to return to private legal practice and to leverage her extensive professional experience for her clients, Anne-Sophie Vananty established her own law firm in 2019 and became the Founding Partner of AndLaw AVOCATS. Her deep understanding of the business world, combined with strong legal expertise, allows her to handle both intricate legal matters and the practical challenges clients face daily. She consistently approaches issues with a clear awareness of their economic and commercial implications.
